Aldo Nova

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aldo Nova (born Aldo Caporuscio, 13 November 1956, in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist and producer. Although he didn't start playing guitar until he was 15, Nova worked obsessively to master guitar and keyboards, soon becoming a hometown hero in the local clubs. His career got started dually by a role as George Harrison in a production of Beatlemania, and a job as an after-hours studio engineer. Signing with Portrait Records, he released an album Aldo Nova, produced by himself, in 1982 which had a two hit singles with "Fantasy" and "Foolin' Yourself". Although his next album, Subject...Aldo Nova had a hit with "Monkey on your back," his solo career started to crumble as he found demand as a player and writer for other bands. He worked with Jon Bon Jovi in the late 1980s and produced some early CĂ©line Dion albums. He helped write and produce parts of Chantal Condor's 1989 album, Chantal. He is now a songwriter, living in Ireland.
