Alden Challenger

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Alden Challenger was one of a group of early fiberglass cruising yachts that included the Block Island 40, Rhodes Bounty II, and Bermuda 40. It is 38 feet 6 inches long with an 11 foot beam (this was considered quite beamy at the time). Some have argued that the Challenger was Alden's response to the Concordia Yawl, but considering the Challenger's specifications it is more likely an Alden version of Sparkman & Stevens Finisterre.(http://www.sparkmanstephens.com/design/finisterre_pic.html)
