Aldburg (OE "Old Fortress"; cf. modern German alte Burg = old fortress) is a small fortified city of J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional legendarium. It lies in Rohan, in Middle-earth. It was built by Eorl in the region known as the Folde, some miles to the southeast of Edoras. Though his son, Brego, moved to Edoras early in Rohan's history, Aldburg remained a seat of noblemen. At the time of the War of the Ring, it was the home of king Théoden's nephew Éomer, who was Third Marshal of the Mark, and heir of the Kingship of Rohan himself.
