Aldaniti

Aldaniti (1970 - Friday 28 March 1997) was a famous racehorse who won the Grand National on 4 April 1981. Jockey Bob Champion famously recovered from cancer while Aldaniti recovered from a serious of major injuries. The horse was trained by Josh Gifford.

His name was derived from the names of his breeder Tommy Barron's four grandchildren:

Alastair, David, Nicola, Timothy.


A British_Rail_Class_86 railway engine is named after him.
