Alcohol monopoly

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An alcohol monopoly is a government monopoly on some or all alcoholic beverages. It can be used as an alternative for total prohibition.

All Nordic countries except Denmark have monopolies, namely Systembolaget in Sweden, Alko in Finland, Vinbudin on Iceland and Vinmonopolet in Norway.

In the United States there are some alcoholic beverage control states.
