[edit] New York City

New York City? Isn't it based out of Toronto, where Steve Lerner lives?

You would be correct, I switched it back--Aviper2k7 04:23, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Steven Lerner

Steven Lerner has now passed away, and the site is in the ownership of a conglomerate of high-ranking members. Can we hav some kind of reference for this - in the mean time removed as vandalism. No offence Ck lostsword 16:02, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

It is...the creator/owner is still alive and well. — Ilyanep (Talk) 03:43, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Thought so - just being polite. ;) Ck lostsword|queta! 20:11, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Google Bomb

Ok let's just get this straight. The Google Bomb DOES NOT WORK. I am sick and tired of the people screwing with that sentence. CHECK IT FOR YOURSELVES. Search "french military victories" and you'll get over a million hits. And if you click "I'm Feeling Lucky" for it, you'll see that IT DIRECTS YOU TO THE ABS PAGE. CHECK THE FAVICON. CHECK THE ADDRESS. YOU ARE NOT LOOKING AT A REAL GOOGLE PAGE. ~~Machchunk

Maybe you should look at what a Google Bomb is before you make a bigger ass of yourself --Aviper2k7 03:18, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Ahem, you were saying? I assume you've never actually tried it before, considering how many times you've been oblivious to the truth. ~~Machchunk
Hey asshole, you're a dumbass. I suggest you read about the Google Bombing page and learn that google doesn't make the page. "A Google bomb or Google washer is a certain attempt to influence the ranking of a given page in results returned by the Google search engine, often with humorous intentions. Due to the way that Google's PageRank algorithm works, a page will be ranked higher if the sites that link to that page all use consistent anchor text. A Google bomb is created if a large number of sites link to the page in this manner." If you don't believe me, come to the irc and ask the webmaster, or sign up for the forums and pm him. Or just grow a fucking brain --Aviper2k7 03:28, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
I suppose we're talking about a different definition of Google Bomb then. The one I'm talking about is the one where you search a term and you only get one result. The one you're talking about is new to me. But I guess this most fits your definition. So fine. Keep your fucking version. Just know I'm going to paste the personal attacks policy all over your talk page, which I will personally make for you since you're so lazy and stubborn. ~~Machchunk
That's a googlewack. 80.41.205.31 13:23, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Google does not acually make the pages, the website "google bombs" or alters the search engine results to get the page higher rankings. Steven Learner bombed that term to get that page at the front of the search results. It made the top rankings so when you press "I'm feeling lucky" it will take you to that page, which is a parody on a google page that would have no results. There is nothing else to it, google does not redirect regular search results to there, you have to press "I'm feeling lucky" to get it. Read the Google Bomb page, you're the only one who thinks differently. It's not "my" version, it's wikipedia's. If you don't think that's right, then you should edit the Google Bomb page to correct it. And writing in my talk the personal attack is hypocritical.

[edit] Removing "Popular Files"

The section seems very biased and promotes the site. Removing it for POV's sake.--DethFromAbove 05:36, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] eBaum's

I replaced a portion of this with a portion of the Controversy section of the eBaum's page because the text was taken directly from the ABS home page.IMFromKathlene 20:15, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Based in New York?

"Albino Blacksheep is a popular website based in New York City" How can a website be based in a city? Do you mean the creator of the website is from that city? Do you mean that the server is situated in that city? Shouldn't it be worded differently?

[edit] Name section unnecessary

The joke is quite obvious. Is this really necessary? I've never thought "o rly?" so much before.71.228.6.33 02:01, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 2007 April Fools

Would it be appropriate to mention today's April Fools joke (completely recreating the website as "Google Animation")? It seems like a major event for the website, as they have never done something like this, or at least of this magnitude. The Bone III 16:59, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
