Albright is a town in Preston County, West Virginia, along the Cheat River. The population was 247 at the 2000 census.

Albright is located at 39°29′37″N, 79°38′19″W (39.493503, -79.638640)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it (9.38%) is water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 247 people, 99 households, and 61 families residing in the town. The population density was 328.9/km² (857.9/mi²). There were 113 housing units at an average density of 150.4/km² (392.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.79% White, 0.40% African American, and 0.81% from two or more races.

There were 99 households out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.5% were married couples living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.4% were non-families. 29.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 3.06.

In the town the population was spread out with 27.9% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 31.2% from 25 to 44, 23.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 87.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.5 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $21,389, and the median income for a family was $21,500. Males had a median income of $20,764 versus $16,250 for females. The per capita income for the town was $10,581. About 27.9% of families and 26.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 36.6% of those under the age of eighteen and 27.3% of those sixty five or over.
