Alberto Torrico

Alberto Torrico has been a member of the California State Assembly since December of 2004 after Assemblyman John Dutra was term limited. Assemblyman Torrico serves in both the Hispanic Caucus as his father is from Bolivia and the Asian Pacific Island Caucus as his mother is Japanese. Assemblyman Torrico is the first California state assemblyman to serve in two different ethnic caucuses.

Assemblyman Torrico served on the Newark City Council from 2001 until 2004.

Assemblyman Torrico and his wife Raquel, live in Newark. Assemblyman and Mrs. Torrico have a 6 year old son Mateo, and 2 year old daughter Amy-Elyzabeth.
