Alberto Suppici

Alberto Horacio Suppici (November 20, 1898 – June 21, 1981) was the coach of the Uruguay team during the 1930 FIFA World Cup. He was assisted by Pedro Arispe, Ernesto Figoli, Luis Greco and Pedro Olivieri.
Suppici was responsible for dropping the goalkeeper Andres Mazzali, the Gold medallist from the 1928 Olympic final, from the team after he was caught breaking curfew from the team hotel in Montevideo prior to the tournament.
He died at the age of 82 and the Plaza Colonia Stadium has been named in his honour.
