From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Alberto Guerrero (February 6, 1886 – November 7, 1959) was a Chilean–Canadian composer, pianist, and teacher, perhaps now best remembered as a mentor of Canadian pianist Glenn Gould. Prior to his emigration to Canada, Guerrero founded and conducted Santiago's first symphony orchestra. For many years a distinguished faculty member of the Toronto Conservatory of Music, Guerrero also maintained an active schedule as a performer.
