Albert Weisbord
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Albert Weisbord (1900 - 1977) was an early member of the American Communist Party. In the 1930s, Weisbord was the leader of an independent Marxist group called the Communist League of Struggle, that existed 1931 - 1937. Weisbord's group for a time asserted agreement with the policies of the Trotskyist International Left Opposition, but the CLS never fully joined the Trotskyists. When World War II broke out, Albert Weisbord supported the U.S. entry into the war, albeit in the interest of defeating imperialism. [1]
