Albert Speer (the younger)

Albert Speer (born July 29, 1934 in Berlin) is a German architect and urban planner. He is son of the architect and Nazi Party official Albert Speer. His grandfather Albert Friedrich Speer and his great-grandfather were also architects.
He won his first international prize in 1964, and opened his own architect's office. He had great international success, and worked much in Saudi Arabia. In 1977 he became professor of urban planning in Kaiserslautern.
In 1984 he founded the company Büro Albert Speer & Partner in Frankfurt am Main, which currently has more than 100 employees and is one of the biggest and most well-reputed architectural and urban planning companies in Germany.
Recently, he was responsible for the design of Expo 2000 (the world exposition that took place in Hanover in the year 2000), design of the Shanghai International Automobile City and the Beijing Olympic complex.
