Albert Einstein Institution

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Albert Einstein Institution is a US-based non-profit organization that specializes in the study of the methods of non-violent resistance. Its founder and senior scholar, Gene Sharp, is the foremost writer on strategic nonviolent struggle. Dr. Sharp and the Albert Einstein Institution's president, retired US Army Col. Robert Helvey, have used Dr. Sharp's insights in nonviolent action to train pro-democracy movements around the world, including activists in Serbia, Zimbabwe, Venezuela, Burma and elsewhere. Activists from Otpor in Serbia and Pora in Ukraine have said that publications and training they received from Albert Einstein Institution staff have been instrumental to the formation of their strategies.
