Is there any evidence for the claim regarding Horowitz's strength in the first paragraph?

Yes. One is

ChessMetrics which calculates ratings a mroe accurate way, and it puts him as #10 in the world at his peak in 1943. That's definitely grandmaster strength. Bubba73 (talk), 16:06, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Garbage

I removed the unsourced assertion that Horowitz didn't write any of his books, as well as the POV US/USSR story. The books section is gone, since he wrote a lot of books and we don't need to list every single one. I took out the sample game because it's available elsewhere. Isopropyl 21:19, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
