The Al Mukhabarat Al A'amah (Arabic: المخابرات العامة), or the General Intelligence Directorate, is an intelligence agency of the government of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Formed and run in a rudimentary fashion by Ibn Saud, the Al Mukhabarat Al A'amah developed its organizational structure and purpose during the reign of King Faisal when he appointed his CIA trained brother-in-law, Kamal Adham as its first Director General.
King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz appointed Prince Muqran bin Abdul Aziz Director General of the Directorate, with cabinet rank, on October of 2005. Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Muhammed Al Saud was appointed his deputy, shortly thereafter, replacing Prince Saud bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz. Previous Director Generals include the late Kamal Adham, Prince Turki Al Faisal and Prince Nawwaf bin Abdul Aziz.
