Al Lockwood

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Group Captain Al Lockwood is a retired Royal Air Force officer who stood as the Conservative candidate for Sedgefield at the British General election in 2005. As his opponent was Prime Minister Tony Blair, his campaign was mostly a formality; he received 14.4% of the vote, as opposed to Blair's 58.9%.

During the Iraq War, Lockwood was recalled into the RAF having been previously discharged to become the British military spokesman based at United States Central Command in Qatar.

Lockwood is now favoured by David Cameron within the A-list of preferred candidates to take the safe Lincolnshire seat when Peter Tapsell retires in 2007
