Al Garhoud

Al Garhoud is a residential colony of villas in Dubai close to Dubai International Airport. It is favoured by expats; and due to its proximity to Dubai International Airport, it is also preferred by Emirates airline pilots.

The colony is famed for the many variety of trees that have been planted by its residents.

Close to many pubs and clubs including the Aviation Club which houses 'The Irish Village' a must see for all tourists and expats alike. A mock Irish pub, built by the Irish pub company and managed by the Dubai Duty Free Company, it boasts a fine International Menu and Dubai's biggest beer garden.

Other attractions nearby include City Centre shopping mall as well as a Le Meridien Hotel which is home to the Dubliner bar and various restaurants and an Al Bustan Hotel.

The roads around Al Garhoud are notorious for their traffic and part of which is caused by the Al Garhoud bridge.

Expats generally leave out the 'Al' part of Al Garhoud and call it Garhoud.
