The University of Akron Zips are a college football program representing the University of Akron that competes in NCAA Division I-A Mid-American Conference football. Recently, the Zips have managed to pull off their first Mid-American Conference Championship for the first time in the program's history.[1] Under the leadership of head coach J. D. Brookhart, they have had unprecedented success,[citation needed] with each of his two years so far yielding winning records.
