[edit] Career
Akisha Samia started her professional wrestling career in July of 2000 as a graduate of Afa the Wild Samoan's training school, she was then sent for the World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW) promotion.
Akisha made her debut in January of 2001 and quickly rose through the ranks of WXW. She impressed many people with her stiff kicks and her showing of great agility for her size, she went on to feud with the likes of Traci Brooks and Alere Little Feather. In mid 2001, Akisha was entered in the promotion's Super 8 Tournament which she won last defeating her enemy and previous winner Alere Little Feather and went on to defeat Traci Brooks for the Women's Championship.
[edit] Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre
After finding success in WXW, Akisha traveled to Mexico to wrestle for its CMLL promotion. Akisha debuted for the company in early 2002 as Haikili wearing a thunder and lightning designed wrestling attire complete with mask. Her opponent for the night was veteran Japanese competitor Mimi Shimoda. Again, Akisha wowed the fans with her impressive agility and stiff offence and in the end put Shimoda away with her Thor's Hammer finishing move.
Akisha went on to create an undefeated streak which lasted a month until she was defeated ironically, by her very first opponent in the company; Mimi Shimoda. Akisha remained in the company for another two years.
[edit] Women's World Wrestling
On May 21, 2004 Akisha debuted in Women's World Wrestling where she was introduced as the enforcer for Victoria and her Order of the Spider stable. Her first duty was to take out the number one contender for Victoria's WWW Championship at WrestleFest 2004; Trish Stratus which culminated into a match between Stratus and Akisha. In the end, Akisha was not able to defeat Stratus much to the disgust of Victoria who resorted to banishing her out of the faction and even slapping her across her face. Samia turned face at WrestleFest 2004 when Victoria gave Akisha another chance to 'do right' by interfeering and putting away Stratus during the match. But instead, she attacked Victoria by delivering a Samoan Drop to her, allowing Stratus to pick up the win and the belt as revenge of how she had treated her.
Akisha then began feuding with her former leader alongside Trish Stratus which led to Akisha and Stratus taking on Victoria and her stable mate Ebony, despite outside interfeerance; Akisha and Stratus picked up the victory. In later weeks, Akisha took on Ebony one-on-one. Akisha would suffer a hand injury caused by her falling awkwardly on it, she was sidelined for several weeks.
[edit] Return
Samia returned with her hand fully healed on May 2, 2004. She had changed her appearance majorly, adopting a Pacific Island Warrior style gimmick; wearing a black thong and painting mysterious red designs around her eyes. She immediately got into a feud with the newly assembled faction named the Sorority Sisters especially their leader and (then) WWW Champion Shelly.
[edit] With Amy Steele
Soon, Amy Steele joined forces with Akisha to battle the Sorority Sisters who were responsible in making Amy Steele lose a WWW Championship match against Shelly. Steele joined forces when Akisha fought Michelle Alexis in a 'Kiss My Ass' match, it was stipulated that if Alexis would lose; Shelly would be made to 'Kiss the Ass' of Akisha. When Samia pinned Alexis with a superkick, Shelly attempted to flee the arena but would be intercepted from the rampway by Steele who chased her back into the ring, the Champion was placed in the corner of the ring and held by Steele which allowed Akisha to smother her buttocks into Shelly's face, this move would be known as the stinkface.
These series of events led up to a match pitting Steele and Akisha against all three members of the Sorority Sisters in which Akisha scored the pinfall on Shelly after hitting her Akisha Splash.
[edit] Tag Team Champions
Akisha and Steele would continue to wrestle as a tag team in later weeks. They received a shot at the WWW Tag Team Championioship facing the then champions Legend and Trinity on an episode of Impact!. Akisha scored the pin after giving Lisa Legend a Samoan Drop thus winning the Tag Team Titles for her and Steele.
The newly crowned champions would go on to face Legend and Trinity in a rematch at WWW Retribution 2004. The champions once again came out victorious after Akisha hit Legend with the Samoan drop allowing Steele to hit her Shooting Star Press.
The night after the Retribution PPV on Impact!, Akisha and Steele challenged Sorority Sisters members Shaniqua and Michelle Alexis. Shaniqua and Alexis had become number one contenders for the titles following a win at Retribution. During the match, Shelly came from the back and caused interfeerance allowing Alexis to pin a distracted Steele following a spike DDT onto a chair.
