Akio Takamori

Akio Takamori is a Japanese ceramic artist. Born in Nobeoka, Miyazaki in 1950, he studied art in the United States before returning to Japan. He has been artist in residence at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana. In 1993 he moved to Seattle, Washington.

His work is often figurative, witty, and erotic in nature. It is held in notable collections such as Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
