Akio Ohtsuka

Akio Ohtsuka (大塚 明夫 Ōtsuka Akio?) (November 24, 1959 - ) is a Japanese male actor and seiyū from the Tokyo Metropolitan area affiliated with Mausu Promotion. His height is 182 centimeters (6 feet), his weight is 73 kilograms, and his blood type is B.
He married fellow seiyū Yōko Sōmi on February 11, 2005. His father, also a seiyū, is Chikao Ōtsuka. The astringent and calm quality of his voice has landed him many roles in films, dubbing, animation, and video games.

- Akio Ohtsuka has appeared in several roles with Tessho Genda where their roles are strongly related:
- They voiced two Rune-Gods in Magic Knight Rayearth, Akio voiced Windam, Tessho voiced Selece
- In the crossover Namco X Capcom, they voiced the characters from Forgotten Worlds, Akio as the Unknown Soldier 1P (the blue one), Tessho as Unknown Soldier 2P (the red one).
- Additionally, they have both voiced Honda Heihachiro Tadakatsu, a famous general in service of Tokugawa Ieyasu during the Sengoku Period, in different titles. Akio provides Tadakatsu's voice in Sengoku Musou (Samurai Warriors in US), Tessho provides Tadakatsu's voice in Onimusha 3: Demon Siege.
- The OVA Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories has Ohtsuka playing the lead villain, the Zeon ace Anavel Gato, who briefly meets with a veteran comrade from the One Year War, Kelly Layzner, played by Tessho Genda.
- In Vision of Escaflowne, Ohtsuka plays the King of Fanelia (and father to both Van and Folken) Goau. In the same anime, Genda plays Balgus, Goau's comrade-in-arms and later teacher of both Van and Allen Schezar.
- He is the Japanese dub voice of Mel Gibson.
- He has voiced two characters with the characteristics of flamboyant playboyish swordsman who liked to wear gaudy pink kimono: Hyo Amano of The Last Blade and Shunsui Kyōraku of Bleach
- Just as his father, Chikao Ohtsuka, voiced the main villain of the first Kinnikuman movie, Akio voiced the main villain of the first Kinnikuman Second Generations movie.
