Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is one of the world's largest law firms. Founded in Dallas, Texas, in 1945, the firm employs more than 900 attorneys and advisors in 15 cities worldwide, including London, Brussels, New York, Moscow, Dubai and Taipei. According to its Web site, its "vision is to address the array of legal challenges you may encounter in achieving your business goals". Starbucks hired two of the firm's lawyers in its campaign against the unionization of a mid-Manhattan store. They have also represented the government of Colombia in its lobbying efforts for Plan Colombia.
