Akhilesh Prasad Singh (born 5 January 1962) is a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represents the Motihari constituency of Bihar and is a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) political party. Currently (2006), he is a state minister in the Cabinet of India, and holds the charge of Agriculture, Food & Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution.
According to media reports [2], his ministry has initiated a number of measures to monitor the availability of food grains in different parts of the country. With the active participation of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) the Government has taken steps to” enable the farmers in getting latest skill about marketing their produce through procurement centers being operated by the FCI”.
