I'm an Armenian-American and a resident of Cleveland, the second-largest city in the U.S. state of Ohio, located along the southern shores of Lake Erie. My username, Aivazovsky (Armenian: Այվազովսկի; Russian: Айвазовский), is derived from Ivan Aivazovsky, the famous Russian-Armenian painter. I serve as an administrator on Raffi Kojian's Armeniapedia.org and I also contribute to Wikimedia Commons on a fairly regular basis.

I am an active contributor on topics regarding Armenia and the Armenians. I have also worked on articles related to Russia, Georgia, Greece, Turkey, Azerbaijan, the Balkans, Eastern Europe, the post-Soviet Central Asian states, the history of the Soviet Union, the Russian Revolution, World War I, World War II, the Cold War, the Middle East and of course, Cleveland. I am also very interested in histories of Hungary, Poland, and the Baltic States though I haven't actively contributed on articles relating to those countries and regions.

Book(s) I am currently reading:
