The photograph was cropped from a larger photograph which was scanned from Finn, C. J. et al (2004). Air Publication 3003. HMSO. The entire publication, including its photographs, was issued under Crown Copyright. Although copyright for the publication is dated at 2004, the Crown Copyright on the photographs starts from the date when they were taken. Coningham disappeared, presumed dead, in 1948 and so this photograph being more than 50 years old is in the public domain.
