Air Force District of Washington

The Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) is a Direct Reporting Unit of the United States Air Force setup to handle operations in the Washington, DC region (also known as the "National Capital Region" or "NCR"). AFDW , as a Direct Reporting Unit [DRU] is directly subordinate to the Chief of Staff, United States Air Force or to his representative on the Air Staff. AFDW is headquartered on Bolling Air Force Base in the Anacostia neighborhood of Washington, DC. It was reactivated on 07 July 2005.

The following facilities are overseen by AFDW:
- Bolling Air Force Base, District of Columbia - provides headquarters support to the 11th Wing and 844th Communications Group
- Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland - Home of 316th Wing and 79th Medical Wing
- The Pentagon - Support operations
