[edit] History
The club's name roughly translates into "The Common Sports Club". The name refers to the fundamental idea that the club should be open for everyone, as well as the club's practising of common sports, for example athletics.
AIK was originally founded in Stockholm 1891 by Isidor Behrens but the club relocated to Solna in 1937. The ice hockey team mainly plays games at Hovet, but the more popular games are usually played at Globen, which has a larger capacity of 14,119.
