This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | unblock | contribs) asked to be unblocked, but an administrator or other user has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators or users can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). This unblock request continues to be visible. Do not replace this message with another unblock request nor add another unblock request.

Request reason: "I would like to request the removal of the overly zealous block on the IPs of ThePlanet.com."

Decline reason: "Your account is not blocked directly. If autoblocked, please follow the instructions. -- Yamla 16:25, 13 January 2007 (UTC)"

This template should be removed when the block has expired, or after 2 days in the case of blocks of 1 week or longer.

While some of us, me included, use their hosting services and also may use them to proxy communications, they are in no way an "open proxy". In order to proxy communications I must first create a SSH tunnel, which doesn't seem like an "open proxy" to me.

I was actually disturbed to see the block message today while attempting to contribute to an article before I logged in. I don't have a problem with logging in, and I'm not exactly sure what prompted the actions... but banning two giant swaths of ip ranges to solve a problem created by a few people seems like a strange policy.

In response to the decline of the unblock: Just because my personal account isn't blocked doesn't mean I may not want to edit pages (semi)anonymously some time in the future. Too bad I'm not the one who made this decision.
