Aaron K Hostetter

I currently live in Princeton, New Jersey, where I am working on a PhD in medieavl literature at Princeton University. My areas of specialty include: The medieval period in England from 600 to 1500, including literature in Anglo-Saxon, Anglo-Norman and Anglo-Latin; the Middle English romance; Piers Plowman; the Pearl-poet; John Gower. I also work on medieval food and cooking in literature, and have interests in medieval and contemporary literary theory, Marxism, cultural materialism, Edmund Spenser, children's literature, J.R.R. Tolkein, and H.P. Lovecraft. My non-academic interests include: Funk music, World of Warcraft, anime and cartoons, silly movies, karaoke, and trivia.

I am currently interested in overhauling and adding articles on the individual and significant middle english romances, as a way of perhaps tackling the much larger and quite thorny article on romance as a genre (which I find quite unsatisfying, but could be better if different people contributed subheadings on their specialties.)

Please feel free to contact me through the talk pages on any questions or problems you have with my work, and I can do what I can to address those issues, adding a citation where one is required, or clarifying what is obscure.
