[edit] Copyright problems
The entire texts of Kuwait Medical Association and Kuwait Medical Professionals appear to be copies from the KMA website[1], and large chunks of the text in Pearle Opticians appears to be copied from their parent's website.[2] Please re-write the copied text so I don't have to list it at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. Thanks, Niteowlneils 03:23, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Lo
Hey, welcome to wikipedia. I couldnt help but notice your contributions to Kuwaiti articles. Just thought I'd say a hello. Also, I noticed that your user page is really similar to mine :p. Diversify a bit man hehe. Well nice knowing someone's making contributions to the Kuwaiti articles other than me. Zer0fighta
[edit] Wikipedia 1.0 Core Topics
Hi, thanks for signing up for the core topics project at WP1.0, I'm really glad to have someone else involved. Things have been very quiet there for the last month as User:Maurreen has been away and we also need to align our assessments better, but now you have joined us I think we should press on with the work. The WP 1.0 project is about to take off in a big way IMHO, and we need a core of basic articles ready for that. We are mainly assessing articles at present, I have been using these assessment criteria. Take a look at the ones already assessed to get a feel for it, then try assessing a few. Once that job is complete we need to either get interested people to address the shortcomings of the article or (as a last resort) fix the problems ourselves. Maurreen is a journalist (I think), so she should be able to write well on a variety of subjects, but we can realistically only bring a handful of neglected articles up to standard, not 150. Cheers, Walkerma 16:07, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for getting back to me. User:Tastemyhouse has just signed up to help us, I'm hoping he/she will be doing some assessments soon. Perhaps you could then go through and give a second opinion on all of the assessments when you are not so busy? Thanks, Walkerma 03:47, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Governorates
Thanks for the kind words, I always like to hear when someone enjoys my work. :) I actually DO have a map of Kuwait in the works, though I haven't done the individual governorates yet. I'll try to get those up. In the meantime, here's the English language map I did. You know about about Kuwait - could you verify that my lines around Kuwait City are correct? I kind of had to guess as to the borders of the newest governorate. Thanks :) --Golbez 17:11, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks so much. I'll put the full suite of maps up tonight. --Golbez 03:48, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Core topics
Hi Ahmed,
I remember you saying you'd have more chance to work on Wikipedia after mid-January. I was wondering if you would be able to help us out at core topics? I met up with User:Maurreen in person over the holidays, and we were able to have a great brainstorming session. We both see WP 1.0 as involving a hierarchy, with the core topics at the top level; we will probably need to go down about three levels to be able to use most of the featured articles and other A-Class articles. I have put a "to-do" list on the talk page, could you sign up for something there, if you have time to work on this? Thanks, Walkerma 04:05, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi there again! I hope that you're keeping well - have you broken up for a summer break? We are about to start accepting Nominations for Wikipedia 0.5 (the test release), and WP:V1N (for 1.0) is close behind. I want to include as many of the core topics as possible in the test, but these need reassessing because many have changed a lot since our original assessments were done. Could you help us out with this? We need to start at the beginning of the table and work through them. We've also tentatively created a supplement and most of those will need assessing too. Regards, Walkerma 04:49, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Arabic names thing.
I've been trying, slowly but surely, and I've barely made a dent. the ones I have edited are on my userpage. I'll get aroudn ot more when i have time.Dlayiga 22:35, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Governorates
Hey, Thats awesome man. There were a few typos in the arabic spelling of the names but I fixed those up. small things like changing the "alif" with the "hamza" to one without a hamza, and changing "mubarak al kabeeree" to "mubarak al kabeer". but yeah. Im quite impressed overall. My only concern is are you sure that the Jahra governorate extends that big? Because as far as i know, everything west/north of jahra is more or less uninhabited. well awesome work anyway. keep it up! -Zer0fighta 04:04, 24 January 2006 (UTC) PS: Wikipedia is driving me insane with the current saad/sabah crisis. people are trying to declare Sheikh Sabah the emir before he is announced the emir.
[edit] 1.0 Collaboration of the Week
Hi, I noticed you signed up as a member of the Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team, which is looking to identify quality articles in Wikipedia for future publication on CD or paper. Recently, a 1.0 Collaboration of the Week was created to work on essential topics that are in need of improvement, which will ultimately go in a release version of Wikipedia. You can help by voting, contributing to an article, or simply making a comment. Thank you for your support. :) Gflores Talk 07:32, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Wikiethics
Hi,
We started a proposal Wikipedia:Wikiethics to state the existing policies coherently and make suggestions on improving the editorial standards in Wiki. I thought you might be interested in contributing to that proposal.
Unfortunately, a pro-porn and pro-offense lobby is trying to make this proposal a failure. They unilaterally started an approval poll although almost no one including me believe that it is time for a vote, simply because the policy is not ready. It is not even written completely.
Editors who thinks that the policy needs to be improved rather than killed by an unfair poll at the beginning of the proposal, started another poll ('Do we really need a poll at this stage?') at the same time. The poll is vandalized for a while but it is stable now. A NO vote on this ('Do we really need a poll now?') poll will strengthen the position of the editors who are willing to improve the ethics policy further.
If you have concerns about the ethics and editorial standards in Wiki, please visit the page Wikipedia:Wikiethics with your suggestions on the policy. We have two subpages: Arguments and Sections. You might want to consider reviewing these pages as well...
Thanks in advance. Resid Gulerdem 21:23, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Version 1.0 "Release Version Qualifying"
Hi, I'm interested in your feedback on Wikipedia talk:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Release Version Qualifying. It's essentially an idea to use a process similar to WP:FAC to identify and handle articles and lists that would go in a release version. Maurreen 19:38, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WP 1.0
I thought since you are interested in this project you might be interested to see a CD version of en now exists see Wikipedia:Wikipedia-CD/Download & 2006 WP CD Selection. [edit] Shopping malls in Egypt

Hi. Thanks for the note, though i think it is much more difficult there: too much work to do, a small number of dedicated users, a very hard job (especially with science articles). Certainly hope i'd edit more there. Cheers. --Wedian 01:53, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Long Time
Hey... yeah I'm actually in Carnegie Mellon University right now :p. Left Kuwait over a week ago. I definately spend some good time editing pages while I was there hehe. I unfortunately didn't have time (or money for gas for a while) to go out and take pictures of stuff. But yeah, good to hear from you. Take care. -Mishari Alarfaj
[edit] Islamic Barnstar Award
Please offer your opinion, vote, or whatever about your choice for the image to be used with the Islamic Barnstar Award at the Barnstar proposals page. Although there is consensus for the concept of an Islamic Barnstar Award, some editors would like to change the image for the award. I was just thinking you should be aware of this discussion because you have contributed to Islamic-related articles, received the Islamic Barnstar Award, or have contributed to the Islam-related Wikiprojects, etc.--JuanMuslim 1m 16:21, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Info on Islamophobic group
Hello,
What follows are the sentiments, expressed in their own words, and in the 'protest signs', of the obscure, very small, but very vocal 'activist group' known as "Protest Warrior".
"What's becoming clear is how the religion of Islam is addicted to war and mayhem. Not a radical minority, not a rogue sect, but its very essence is about submission and sacrifice and proving your worth by worshipping death in this life to gain a paradise of orgies and drunkenness. Their entire history is of warfare, and any accomplishments of their so-called Golden Age has been proven to be merely parasitic off the cultures they've conquered and reduced to dhimmi servitude. That every country under sharia is corrupt, belligerent, desolate and barbaric obviously gives them no pause, except to constantly drive them into further psychotic rage as they refuse to ever accept any responsibility for their conditions. They are akin to the powers in Orwell's 1984; there must always be an enemy. It's no surprise that women are treated like property in these countries as that's the only way Muslim men can feed their egos, to dominate others rather than ever actually produce something."
Kfir Alfia and Alan Lipton, founders of "Protest Warrior"
Their 'protest signs'...
I thought you might be interested in this group's sentiments. They are currently very actively editing their own article on Wiki and there is a lot of 'group think'. Perhaps you might want to become involved in the editing and discussion process on that page. If you do, please don't vandalize, and try to remain civil. Should you not want to involve youself, please forgive my intrusion.

[edit] Redirect
Hi. Sometimes, if an article is too short, it can be redirected to the a larger, more established article. The article in question was little more than an introductory sentence, but it can certainly be expanded upon and made into an article of suitable length. - Lucky 6.9 07:25, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
LOL! Ah, the fun of finding the nooks and crannies of Wikipedia! I wish you luck on the expansion. :) - Lucky 6.9 07:29, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cairo Suburbs
Hello there! Thanks for the nice words! Are you a resident of Cairo too?
I disagree with what you did when you directed all the empty suburb article pages to the main Cairo article. Not only does not the main article include any mention of, say, Kerdasa, but the previous "red" or non-existent status of these articles invited people with information about these places to create those articles (even if only stubs). That's how the Maadi article, for example, was created and eventually made into the complete and informative entry that it is now. The current, apparently fully populated list of Cairo districts looks deceptively complete. --Estr4ng3d 13:13, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fox Theatre (Tuscon)
Hello,
Thank you for your stub submission. You may wish to note that it is preferable to use a stub template from Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types instead of using simply {{stub}}, if you can.
Thanks! --Vox Causa 21:46, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Faud al–Ahmad al–Sabah
A tag has been placed on Faud al–Ahmad al–Sabah, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Eli Falk 13:10, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Logozajil.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Logozajil.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
