[edit] Tartous images

Welcome to Wikipedia! I can't see the need for uploading all those images; this is an encyclopedia entry not an image gallery. If the images are from Flickr, that doesn't mean that they are free to use; some may be copyrighted and some may not be suitable for use in Wikipedia. Please add sources to the images that are missing source links and drop me a message. I'll be checking the ones which already have sources later today. All the best. - Anas Talk? 11:48, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I have tagged most of the images for deletion since they are copyright violations (no where in any images page does the copyright holder indicate that he allows for it to be used). I also need you to provide the sources to this image. Good luck with your expansion, Tartous certainly needs an overhaul. --Anas Talk? 15:20, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi Anas.. If you follow the links provided for the images. On the webpage it says (copyright sign) all rights reserved. and it also says(this photo is public) so the author chose to make the images public.

I thought that public means that it is available for everyone to view, i.e. not private. If I'm wrong, then I apologize. --Anas Talk? 17:26, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

is there a way we can retrieve these images? --Ahmad

No. Turns out the images were indeed copyright violations, and the remaining are on their way to deletion, I think. Anyways, I strongly oppose the addition of images that aren't free, especially to articles to which a ton of free images can be found or even made. By the way, you can (should, actually) sign your comments by leaving four tildes (~~~~). Cheers. - Anas Talk? 12:42, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Antaradus.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Antaradus.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:43, 5 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Anas Talk? 14:43, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for Image:Farid House.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Farid House.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] City Infobox

Hi, I've noticed that you added an infobox to at least one Syrian city/town. I just have a comment, in the city infobox, the flag field is actually supposed to be the flag of the city/town, not of the country. I think most Syrian cities/towns don't have flags, and in that case the flag field should remain blank in the infobox. Thanks. Asabbagh 20:44, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello there! I agree with you! And Hamrat street is spelled correctly.. It's not Hamra street. ahmad
