Ahmad Al Tayer was a minister in the United Arab Emirates from 1971 through 2004. Al Tayer held several positions in the cabinet including finance, transport, education and public works. He is also a distinguished businessman and heads many banks. Al Tayer headed the telecom monopoly Etisalat during his tenure as Minister of Transportation.
