Ahlul Bayt Digital Islamic Library Project

The Ahlul Bayt Digital Islamic Library Project (DILP) is a team is a registered, non-profit, tax-exempt Internet-based group of volunteers operating throughout the world. Their primary project is runing Al-islam.org.[1]

Their primary objective is to digitize Islamic resources on the Internet and other media relating to the history, law, practice, and society of the Islamic religion and the Muslim peoples with particular emphasis on the Twelver Shi'ah Islamic school of thought. The purpose of the digitization is to encourage research of Islam and to facilitate dissemination of knowledge to locations where such resources are not commonly or easily accessible [2].

The DILP was established in January of 1996, and is currently comprised of members and volunteers from various countries worldwide.

Their current project site, Al-islam.org, is notable for being the the top site in Yahoo!'s list of Shia sites by popularity [3]
