Aguapanela

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aguapanela is a drink native to southern Central America and northern South America. It literally means "sugar water" as it is made from hardened raw sugar from the cane. It is often made with lemon or lime and in large quantities. To make aguapanela, a large block of hardened, raw sugar is placed in a large container of water and stirred until the block is entirely dissolved. Lime juice is then added.
