Student newspapers in the UK are also independent of the universities and student unions whose students they represent and are dominated by the big three, Oxford University’s Cherwell and The Oxford Student; The Cambridge Student and Varsity from Cambridge University; and Gair rhydd (free word) from Cardiff University. The latter published a one-off full-colour Berliner issue to mark the end of the academic year on 12 June 2006.
