[edit] Final episode discussion

Anyone know if theres gointg to be a series 3. Ace programme, probably my fav.

It seems unlikely, given tonight's events — seems very like 'The End' to me. Great show though, I agree. Angmering 22:46, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Well there won't be a series 3 because, if you think about it, Alison is almost certainly dead. Anyway, can anyone figure out what the name of the last episode (A Name Written in Water) means? I've been thinking about it for a while, and I really don't understand it! U-Mos 19:21, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

It's a paraphrasing of this poem. Angmering 22:33, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

It's a reference to the inscription on Keats' gravestone.

[edit] Series 3

Writer Stephen Volk has confirmed that there will be no Series 3 of Afterlife. Apparently this has nothing to do with Andrew Lincoln's character being written out, Volk and Lesley Sharp wished to continue and Volk had some ideas for a third series, but ITV have not commisioned another series despite saying the show was wonderful and "exactly the sort of thing we want to be doing" because the ratings have "not progressed". That's hardly surprising since they scheduled the show on Saturday nights, BBC1's strongest night. Seems there is some remote possibility of the BBC taking Afterlife on but it's unlikely. Shame. Regardless, I guess for ITV it's back to more of the same reality/celebrity nonsense. --MarkB79 01:53, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

A shame in a way there is to be no third series, but I still think the last episode was a great way of ending the show and it would almost have spoiled it for there to have been more. Angmering 07:29, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

No one listens to me... there could be no series 3 because Alison is dead ^^^! U-Mos 11:11, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

No one listens to you because you don't know what you are talking about. Robert is dead, Alison is still very much alive, although her powers seem to have diminished or disappeared altogether. A third series would probably involve her seeking a way to renew her powers, since she seems somewhat lost without them. 71.200.138.227 12:38, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
