[edit] Africanness

This article excludes light-skinned African writers such as J.M. Coetzee (winner of the Booker and Nobel Prizes), Andre Brink, Zoey Wicomb, Nadine Gordimer, Nawaal el Sadaawi. It would therefore be considered as extremely racist by many people, especially in racially-diverse South Africa. --100%RSA 23:33, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] excluded literary works

what about older african works such as the kebra negast, or kanem chronicles. anyone feel like adding those in. i would but don't know much about them. there is also a strong literary tradition in Timbuktu. Scott Free 21:00, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
