The Afrikaans Wikipedia is an Afrikaans language edition of the Web-based free-content encyclopedia Wikipedia. The project was started on November 16, 2001, and was the 11th Wikipedia to be created.[1] As of January 24, 2007, this edition has over 6,000 articles[2] and is the 69th largest Wikipedia by number of articles. There are not only South-Africans who uses the Afrikaans version of wikipedia because of they similarity of Dutch and Afrikaans there are also people from the Netherlands and Belgium who works and uses this wikipedia.[3]
