The African moony, Monodactylus sebae, is a fingerfish in the family Monodactylidae. It is a brackish and saltwater fish from the eastern Atlantic, ranging from the Canary Islands down to Angola. It favours mangrove swamps and similar shallow waters.

This species is quite widely kept in brackish and saltwater water aquaria; though is has only very rarely been bred in aquaria, it is otherwise hardy and easy to care for.
