Alectis ciliaris |
The African Pompano, Alectis ciliaris, inhabits waters from 65 to 80 degrees Farenheit. This fish ranges from about 5 pounds to 50 pounds, and lives around the Florida Keys, the Caribbean, and the African coast. The African Pompano is actually not a true pompano, but a jack. It fights hard and is fun to catch on light tackle. This fish is also somewhat good for eating.
