Afega

Afega is a small village on the Samoan island of Upolu. It is located on the central north coast of the island to the west of the capital Apia in the countryside.

There are no commercial business allowed to be established within the village such as stores which the ancestors believed would bring disaster to the community.

It is the home of some of the great athletes who represented Western Samoa such as , Rita Fatialofa , the New Zealand Netball star and the senior coach for Samoa national team to the South Pacific; Ulia Ulia, the former Manu Samoa star; Leu Vaetolu, the three times gold medalist in South Pacific Games; Nathan Filemoni Faavae, the New Zealand national champion in mountain bike competition.
