[edit] Summary

This originated as a photograph of an ancient manuscript held in the British Library, showing King Canute and Queen Emma (Aelgiva Regina) endowing the minster at Winchester. I scanned the photo from a book (sorry can't remember which one, but it's in lots and lots of books). I trimmed the image down to just Queen Emma and colorised it in Photoshop. I think that constitutes it being self-made.
