[edit] Welcome to the Wikipedia
Welcome, newcomer!
Here are some useful tips to ease you into the Wikipedia experience:
- First, take a look at the Wikipedia Tutorial, and perhaps dabble a bit in the test area.
- When you have some free time, take a look at the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines. They can come in very handy!
- Remember to use a neutral point of view!
- If you need any help, feel free to post a question at the Help Desk
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Also, here are some odds and ends that I find useful from time to time:
- Wikipedia:Policy Library
- Wikipedia:Utilities
- Wikipedia:Cite your sources
- Wikipedia:Verifiability
- Wikipedia:Wikiquette
- Wikipedia:Civility
- Wikipedia:Conflict resolution
- Wikipedia:Brilliant prose
- Wikipedia:Pages needing attention
- Wikipedia:Peer review
- Wikipedia:Bad jokes and other deleted nonsense
- Wikipedia:Village pump
- Wikipedia:Boilerplate text

[edit] Spam listing
Hi. Please don't write articles about yourself or your business. Nothing personal...good luck on your venture! - Lucky 6.9 02:40, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Peter Thompson
Hi, I notice (while disambiguating) that your user page lists you'd like to meet Peter Thompson. As I've split this up (it was a 1970s english footballer and a long dead US solder) you probably want to disambig your link yourself. In the meantime I've found two other human Peter Thompsons (I guess you want to meet the golfer, not the long dead merchant) and a horse. If it is the golfer, could I impose on you to write a brief stub for him at Peter Thompson (golfer). If it's not (damn, surely not another Peter Thompson) could you add him to the disambig page at Peter Thompson. Thanks! -- John Fader (talk • contribs) 17:08, 6 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Altering other people's comments
Do not alter other people's comments on your (or any other) talk page to make it appear as though they said something other than what they actually said. People have been banned for doing this. Kelly Martin (talk) 13:03, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
