Talk:Adventist Review

[edit] Title
Isn't the correct title "Adventist Review", without the article ("The")? That was the original title for this article, but the author decided to move it here. By the way, if anyone wants to move a page, please use the Wikipedia move operation, rather than just cutting and pasting and hence losing the page history. --Colin MacLaurin 06:49, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- I have the latest copy in front of me, and the name is clearly "Adventist Review". Many times the title "Adventist Review" appears without the article ("the"), and one blurb on page 2 starts, "The Adventist Review...", clearly showing that the article is not included in the title. Hence I will move the page. --Colin MacLaurin 06:43, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

- I agree with the move. Not sure how to go about it though. May have to be done through request moves in order to keep both contribution histories. It seems to be an uncontroversial move. I will try to move it, however, on failing that, RM should be the place to go. Ansell 08:59, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Aah (light bulb moment)! Just noticed that a historic title was "The Adventist Review", until a change, and then a later revert to "Adventist Review" but without the article. This might explain the confusion. Colin MacLaurin 09:49, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] More naming issues
Going to the original archives, as I have listed the links for on the page, yield different titles used throughout the history of the magazine. It is better to go to the source than rely on William Johnsson's article Our Roots and Mission. Some of the names used are, from my random sample of the originals:
- The Present Truth (with the definite article, "the")
- The Advent Review (only a few editions printed)
- Second Advent Review, and Sabbath Herald (no "the")
- Advent Review, and Sabbath Herald (no "the" or "Second")
- Review & Herald
- The Advent Review and Sabbath Herald
