[edit] Welcome
Hello, and welcome to my Wikipedia userpage.
Most of the time I just make little edits here and there. If I do make any major changes, it's probably an article about music or a translation from Spanish. If you're really that curious about me, you can always visit my webpage.
[edit] Interests
- Classical music: my very favorite composers are J.S. Bach, Frédéric Chopin, Edvard Grieg, Maurice Ravel, and Ralph Vaughan Williams.
- Jazz, especially Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington.
- History, particularly Antiquity, Medieval times, the Renaissance, and Colonization of the Americas.
- Language: I enjoy linguistics, though I don't claim to have any sort of expertise in that field. Conlangery also piques my curiosity.
- Reading: my favorite authors are Jorge Luis Borges and Thomas Merton. Honorable mention goes to Eco, Orwell, Walker Percy, Wendell Berry, Tolkien, and C.S. Lewis.
[edit] Contributions
As C.S. Lewis once said, "perfect humility dispenses with modesty." Thus, here are the articles I started, and for which I take most of the credit (or blame):
Musical: All-Night Vigil, An Oxford Elegy, Dufay Collective, Ella at Duke's Place, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Flos Campi, Herzliebster Jesu, Jacques Berthier, Mass in G Minor (Vaughan Williams), Oboe Concerto (Vaughan Williams), Paul Bazelaire, Piano Trio (Ravel), Sonatina (Bartók) Miscellaneous: Itinerarium Burdigalense, Manman Dlo contre la fée Carabosse Translations from Spanish: Avia River, Elena Quiroga, Emilio Arrieta, Maras, Peru, Ruperto Chapí, Tomás Bretón
