Adriano Bernareggi

Adriano Bernareggio was born in Oreno on November 9, 1884. He was ordined catholic priest in 1907. He graduated from Pontificial Gregorian University in canon law became after graduation teacher of canon law at Milan Roman Catholic diocesan seminary. After a few years, father Agostino Gemelli offered him a post as professor of ecclesiastic law at Catholic University in Milan.

Cardinal Achille Ratti named him pator at San Vittore al Corpo in Milan. On 16 December pope pius XI named him coadiutor bishop with right of succesion of the roman catholic diocese of Bergamo.Im 1936 Bernareggi succed bishop Marelli as bishop of Bergamo. Bernareggi was promoted by Pope Pio XII as archibishop in 1952. Bernareggi died on June 23, 1953.During his episcopacy in the territory of the diocese happened the case of Our Lady of the Ghiaie.
