Adriano Basso (born April 18, 1975 in Jundiaí) is a Brazilian football goalkeeper currently playing for Bristol City F.C. He previously played for Atlético Paranaense, Woking F.C. and has had a trial with Arsenal F.C.
Basso signed for Bristol City after the 2005/06 campaign had begun and made his first team debut live on Sky Sports versus Swindon Town. Soccer AM also recognised him as the Football League's Best Goalkeeper due to his aerobatic saves.
he had been in the manchester united academy for a while and was subject to play a reserves game.
a few years later 2004 he was set for city.
Arguably the hero for Bristol City against Nottingham Forest in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy southern area quarter final, his excellence in the penalty shootout was evident as he pulled off spectacular saves to deny Forest.
He is a firm fan favourite for his acrobatic saves. He is reffered to as the frog (for his impulsive leaps) and is often commented on for his random 'dancing' while the ball is on the other side of the pitch. he will do star jumps, run around in circles and generally 'dance'.
