Adoor is a town in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala state, India. Lots of famous people including Adoor Gopalakrishnan and Adoor Bhasi are natives of Adoor. The town is located midway between Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam making mobility easier.

Mannadi is located 13 km from Adoor and 45 km from Kollam. Velu Thampi Dalawa, a diwan of the erstwhile state of Travancore, met his tragic death here. It is the place where this great freedom fighter is said the have spent his last days. After leading a brief rebellion against the British, he is said to have ended his life rather than face humiliation at the hands of his opponents. There is a monument erected here as a memorial to his valour. The ancient Bhagwathy Temple here has some exquisite stone sculptures. The annual festival is held here in February or March. The Kerala institute of folklore and folk arts functions from here.
Gajamela—the elephant pageant on the concluding day—is the highlight of the 10-day annual festival at the Sree Parthasarathy Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Sree Krishna, known here in the name of Parthasarathy (Partha's charioteer; Partha (Arjuna) was one of the five Pandava princes, the heroes of the epic Mahabharatha). Majestically caparisoned elephants take part in this spectacular procession.
