Adolf Friedrich IV, Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz

Adolf Friedrich IV, Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (5 May 1738-2 June 1794) was the ruler of the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
He was born in Mirow to the second son of Duke Adolf Frederick II, Duke Karl Ludwig Frederick of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (1708-1752) and his wife Princess Elizabeth Albertine of Saxe-Hildburghausen.
He was the heir presumptive of Mecklenburg-Strelitz from the death of his father on the 5 June 1752, until he succeeded his uncle Duke Adolf Friedrich III on the 11 December 1752. In 1764 Adolf Friedrich was installed as a member of the Order of the Garter.
He never married and following his death at Neustrelitz he was succeeded by his brother Charles.
