Adnan (Arabic: عدنان ) is the traditional ancestor of the Adnani (Arabized Arabs) of northern Arabia, as opposed to the Qahtani of Southern Arabia who descend from Qahtan. Adnan is said to be a descendant of Ishmael through his son Kedar. His descendants are said to have included Muhammad.
Adnan is a male name which means "eternal". Adnan is still a common name for Arabs and Muslims.
The word Adnan is related to the word for paradise or Garden of Eden or Adam.[citation needed]
Also Adnan is a Persian name and it means 'pleasure'.
